Fans of R&B gem Jazmine Sullivan may recall the singer took an abrupt leave of absence from the music world in 2011 when she announced that she would be retiring shortly after the release of her second album. Now the singer has apparently had a change of heart and confirmed at a recent show in London this weekend that she is back and more confident than ever. Singersroom is reporting:

Singer-songwriter Jazmine Sullivan is readying her third studio album for later this year (2014). The “Need U Bad” hit-maker confirmed the pending release during a comeback show over the weekend at the KOKO Theater in London.

It has been almost four years since Sullivan released her sophomore album ‘Love Me Back,’ which arrived on November 29, 2010. In 2011, she shocked many of her peers and fans alike after announcing a semi-retirement from music.

“It’s been awhile,” said Sullivan during the show at KOKO, which saw her running through her catalog of hits, covering popular songs, and she even premiered a new record titled “Masterpiece.”

Sullivan also spoke about her hiatus, confirming that a bad relationship was also a reason for her short exit from music, but says now she is fully confident.

The 26-year-old took the industry by storm with her 2008 debut album Fearless, which boasted the singles “Need U Bad” and “Bust Your Windows.” Her critically-acclaimed sophomore effort, Love Me Back, saw a shortage in sales and awards.
