If you haven’t seen ‘Girls Trip‘ by now, then you are absolutely missing out on one of the most hilarious movies of the year and ever. The comedy which stars Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish continues to dominate in the box office after it’s third week in theaters.
According to Forbes:
Universal/Comcast Corp.’s Girls Trip earned $11.4 million (-42%) in its third weekend and $85.4m 17-day cume. It’s dropping harder than Bad Moms and Bridesmaids on its third weekend, but it’s still a lock for $100m+ and may end its run with over $115m domestic. That would make it producer Will Packer’s second-biggest domestic hit behind the first Ride Along ($134m in 2014). So, yeah, on a $19m budget and with overseas still to come, it’s a big hit.
Considering the film was made with a budget of under 20k, it has certainly gotten the return on its investment and a follow up is eminent. Congrats to the ladies!
