In news that will certainly come as a shocker, Ariana Grande and boyfriend/rapper Big Sean have called it quits after dating for only 8 months.

Reps from both artists have issued a joint statement saying, “They both deeply care for each other and remain close friends. We kindly ask that the media respect their wish for privacy regarding this personal matter at this time.”

A source tells Us Weekly that the two artists — who’ve been dating for eight months — decided to amicably part ways “a few weeks ago” due to upcoming “conflicting touring schedules” within the next year.

Reportedly the two had been showing signs that a breakup may have been near, as they both posted cryptic tweets earlier this month. On April 4 Sean posted “Just know I love u and I care for ya.”

Speculation began spreading of trouble in paradise when Ariana recently brought Justin Bieber on stage with her on her ‘Honeymoon Tour’ a couple weeks ago and the two got pretty cozy on stage. It was widely reported that Sean had a major issue with the on stage PDA but he later revealed that he had no issue with it.  However the breakup news now has us wondering, was he really okay with it?
