Legend, is one word that comes to mind when you think of Mariah Carey and her storied career that has spanned over 20 years. However, these days, little can be said about Mariah’s ability to captivate her audience whether it be with timeless and stellar music that fans are familiar with from her massive catalog, or be it her vocal showings.

Case in point, her most recent album ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse’ debuted with mediocre sales and a lukewarm reception from fans and critics. Mariah however pushed on and announced that she would plan to tour, which came courtesy of her ‘The Elusive Chanteuse Show’ which kicked off Friday night (October 3) at Makuhari Messe Arena in Tokyo, Japan, but we can’t say with a bang.

Mariah struggled through most of the show and could barely hit any of the notes she is known for, however during other segments of her show it appears a track is used to compensate as Mariah sounds crisp, clear and like her old self. Check out some of clips below to see how she fared.
