Originally slated for release in 2013, then subsequently pushed back several times due to his legal issues, now R&B prince Chris Brown is finally ready to release his highly anticipated sixth album ‘X’. CB took to his Instagram on Sunday to share the new official release date, now slated for September 16th.

The follow up to his 2012 album ‘Fortune’ features collaborations with Nicki Minaj (“Love More”), Kendrick Lamar (“Autumn Leaves”), Brandy, Kelly Rowland, Wiz Khalifa, and B.o.B., as well as producers Timbaland, Diplo, Polow Da Don, Danja, Pharrell, and Drumma Boy. Reportedly the album is set to be rooted in R&B as Chris opts out of his EDM/Euro beats as he revealed to Rolling Stone–

“Instead, I wanted to take the Quincy Jones approach. The record pays homage to the Stevie Wonders, the Michael Jacksons, the Sam Cookes. I wanted to put that classic essence of R&B and soul with the new age of music now.”

Chris also shared a snap on the set of his new video ‘New Flame’ feat. Usher & Rick Ross, which serves as the follow up to his super successful smash ‘Loyal’.

Exciting news for Team Breezy!
