Quinta Brunson just made history at the 2024 (75th Annual) Emmys on Monday night.

The ‘Abbott Elementary’ creator and star was in the category alongside Christina Applegate, Rachel Brosnahan Natasha Lyonne and Jenna Ortega were also competing for the Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series honor on Monday.

However, it was Brunson who took home the win which was presented by the legendary Carol Burnett.

Quinta’s win is historic as she becomes the first Black woman to win outstanding lead actress in a comedy in 42 years when she took home the prize at Monday’s 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
