The festival that kicked off initially in 2019 in Pharrell’s hometown of Virginia Beach, was put on pause due to the pandemic, but now is back for its second annual show and is relocating to the DMV after some drama that reportedly went down with officials in VA.

Pharrell’s cousin, Donovan Lynch, was killed by Virginia Beach police in 2021, and Pharrell took a stance against their actions and even wrote a letter to Virginia Beach City Manager saying he loved the city, but it was run with “toxic energy.” As a result, he has pulled his festival.
