In what comes as extremely shocking news, famed singer/songwriter/producer and former ‘Tamar & Vince’ star, LaShawn Daniels has reportedly died at the age of 41.
Although the story is developing, initial reports coming out on Wednesday (Sep.4) are suggesting that the famed hit-maker was killed in a fatal car accident. As of Thursday morning (Sep. 5) Daniels’ wife, April Daniels had confirmed the news.
In a statement released on Thursday via Instagram, his beloved wife confirmed that her husband had died in a car accident Tuesday in South Carolina.
Her statement read: ‘It is with deep and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member and friend LaShawn Daniels, who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina.
‘A Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family.’
‘We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous outpouring of love and sympathy.’
Following the shocking news, LaShawn’s close friends took to social media to pay tribute to him by leaving comments on his last post on Instagram–as well as sharing their own sentiments and condolences via tweets and IG posts.

Lashawn, also known by his nickname “Big Shiz,” has penned hit singles such as Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love,” “Say My Name” and “Lose My Breath,” by Destiny’s Child as well as numerous hits for Brandy including “Full Moon”
He’s also penned hits for Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Spice Girls, Tamar Braxton, George Michael, Janet Jackson and more.
In 2000, Lashawn won a Grammy for his songwriting on Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name.” In 2013, he was also nominated for a Grammy for his work on Tamar Braxton’s “Love and War.”
He and his wife were featured on WEtv’s ‘Tamar & Vince’, before ultimately parting ways with the show following some personal issues with Tamar and then husband, Vincent Herbert.
