We told you last week that pop darlings Ariana Grande and Jessie J were teaming up to allegedly do a remake of Brandy & Monica‘s ‘The Boy Is Mine’ according to the songs creator himself Rodney Jerkins. Rodney revealed that the 2015 remake was set to appear on his upcoming 20th anniversary album which would feature some new material as well remakes of some of his biggest hits from his 20 year career, Boy included.

Well during a recent interview Ariana revealed that she was just as surprised as everyone else to hear that, since she nor Jessie have singed on to do it and know nothing about it. She also revealed that the song is one of her all time faves and that the pressure of remaking such a classic song, and the critique that comes with it, is not something she would like to take on.

Honestly we can’t say we’re not happy to hear this won’t be happening, many cringed when the rumor broke and social media surely partook in the debate of whether it should happen or not with the scale leaning in the later of public opinion. Smart move ladies!
