Could BET‘s hit countdown show ‘106 & Park’ be coming back for the culture?

According to the show’s OG hosts, Free and AJ Calloway, it just might be.

Both of the former co-hosts took to Instagram to celebrate the show’s 22nd anniversary on Sunday (Sept. 11), and teased that something might be in the works. AJ kicked it off with a celebratory post that alluded to a reunion or reboot.

22 years ago today a show was born out of a little studio on the corner of 106 and Park Ave in NYC. We had no idea that is would have the global impact that it did. We were green in the television industry just trying to figure it out but at the same time always being fans of the culture! That was the key, to be truly in love with our people! Our culture, our clothes, our customs, our food, our music, everything about us! I have and will always be in love of the beauty of the direct descendants of Africa. I got sidetracked, listen I am saying hello to all of the original 106 crew and all those who blessed the stage and crew after us. @missfreemarie I got mad love for you and I know our story isn’t over you ready!? I think the culture needs a little more love again! To the fans of 106 thank you for the constant love, we love you right back probably more than you love us! Have a blessed one people and raise one in the air today for 106 22 years old! #106andPark #AJCalloway #Free #BET

106 & Park made its debut on Sept. 11, 2000 with Free and AJ as the co-hosts where they remained and shot the show to the top of the ratings and became a cultural phenomenon.

Free and AJ remained the hosts for five years before departing in 2005. From there the show continued on with Terrence J and Rocsi as hosts and cycled through various celebrity hosts until the show’s cancelation in 2014.

Would you be here for a 106 return?
