She’s Coming! Missy Elliott Confirms She’s Completed Her New Album, Takes To Instagram To Celebrate [Video]

Posted April 18, 2019

It’s been 14 long years since Missy Elliott released her last studio album–2005’s ‘The Cookbook’ which spawned the hit single ‘Lose Control’ and was her last project after a complete Hip Hop dominance spanning from the mid 90’s through the early 2000s.

Missy has wet appetite of fans here and there with a few singles over the past several years but never a full project but has kept busy with producing, rare performances and in January, she became the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The 47 year old vet sent fans into a frenzy last year when she announced that a new album was officially in the works and would arrive in 2019.

Well on Wednesday night, Missy confirmed that the album is officially done and took to Instagram to share her excitement.

“I just finished a long project I been working on since last year,” Elliot announced in the post. In the video accompanying the announcement, the rapper did a celebratory dance to ‘Keep on Movin,’ the 1989 hit by R&B group Soul II Soul.

No word on when fans can expect the project or single, but with Missy set to take the stage at Pharrell Williams‘ first annual ‘Something In The Water Festival’ at the end of this month, we’re sure we’ll be getting a taste of it sooner than later.
