Report: TV One Cancels ‘R&B Divas: Atlanta’ Due To Low Ratings/Cast Changes *Updated* Syleena Responds

Posted November 12, 2014

As the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ and ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchises continue to flourish and grow in ratings with each new season not every reality TV chain can have the same success. According to reports the ladies of ‘R&B Divas: Atlanta’ may be getting cancelled due to low ratings and multiple cast members leaving the show. Kontrol Magzine is reporting:

Due to continuous low ratings for the last 2 seasons no one seems to be checking for this cast anymore.

Word has it that the only person the network was definitely going to keep was Syleena Johnson. Angie Stone and Keke Wyatt have moved on to other directions with Keke getting her own show. As for Meelah and Monifah the network still hasn’t made an official decision over these two. Now the one everyone was looking open up, LaTavia Roberson has been dropped all together.

The news has all surfaced after the cast of R&B Divas: L.A. has already begun shooting their new season when Atlanta was initially suppose to shoot theirs. As the cameras have been rolling in L.A. no one has seen or heard a peep from Claudette Ortiz not once. Yup, looks like she’s gotten the axe too for not offering up much of a story.

Turns out not just the music game is brutal, but so is television. TVOne looks to be very clear on what they want on their network and low rating definitely isn’t that. No word yet on who’s filling the spot for Ortiz

As fans of both the LA and ATL series we are surprised to hear the news, although Angie Stone made it very clear at the conclusion of last season that she would not return and Keke was on the fence but we are sure the show could amp up the drama by doing a cast revamp with Syleena and Monifah still in place.

Update: After reaching out to the cast Syleena has responded citing Kontrol magazine’s rumor as false and revealed that the ATL ladies are the highest rated show on the network. Monifah also reconfirmed this. Good to hear the lovely ladies will still be on our screens.
