Posted January 22, 2020

The highly anticipated Lifetime biopic ‘The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel’ is on its way, and this past week the cast including Kierra Sheard, Shelea Fraizer, Angela Birchett, Raven Goodwin and Christina Bell attended TCA (Television Critics Association) in Pasadena, CA to promote the film.

The ladies were joined alongside one of the film’s executive producers, Queen Latifah to sit and dish on the upcoming project which is set to air on Easter weekend on Lifetime.

The highly anticipated film is being brought to fans by Grammy Award winners Latifah, Mary J. Blige, and Missy Elliott, and will serve as the authorized musical tale of the incomparable gospel singers.

The film will recount the iconic story of the ladies who became the highest-selling female gospel group in history–and of their trailblazing mother, Mattie Moss Clark (Aunjanue Ellis).

Credited with bringing Gospel music to the mainstream, the five Clark sisters (Christina Bell as “Twinkie,” Kierra Sheard as “Karen,” Sheléa Frazier as “Dorinda,” Raven Goodwin as “Denise,” Angela Birchett as “Jacky”) overcame humble beginnings in Detroit, enduring abuse, loss, rejection, betrayal, and sibling rivalries to achieve international fame as icons of the Gospel music industry.
