As the times have changed and ideas of homosexuality have progressed as people become more aware of the gay lifestyle, there are still those that have issue with acceptance. Specifically in hip hop, as much as music has become more gay friendly and artist like Mackelmore celebrate the lifestyle, there are still hip hop artist who steer clear of the topic or acknowledge it and their gay fans altogether.

Kanye West, and Jay-Z have both taken stances in recent years in defense of gay marriage and equality and promoted respect and support of gays. T-Pain can now be added to that list of SMART and progressive men who are secure enough to be heterosexual men that can support and be accepting of gay males, including in hip hop.

In a new interview with Vlad TV, the rap-singer addressed his thoughts on homosexuality and homophobia in hip hop. He even speaks on how his peers respond to him for having a gay male assistant, and also how he is aware of rappers who refuse to work with openly gay Frank Ocean because of his sexuality.

“I think the radio is getting more gay-friendly,” he said. “I don’t think urban music is getting more gay-friendly because if that was the case, Frank Ocean would be on a lot more songs. I know n***as that will not do a song with Frank Ocean just because he gay, but they need him on the fucking song and that’s so terrible to me, man.”

We couldn’t agree more!! Kudos to Pain! Your thoughts??
