Michael Sam recently sat down with Oprah for an episode of ‘Oprah Prime’ which aired this past Saturday on OWN. During the one on one, Sam who is the first openly gay player in the NFL discussed his life since coming out and reveals that he has in fact been contacted by several other gay men in the NFL

“[They] reached out to me, yes, and just showed their respect and showed — admired my courage,” says Sam. “There’s a lot of us out there … I’m not the only one. I’m just the only one who’s open.”

Michael also talks his thoughts on why he is not currently on a team. the public’s reaction to his coming out, his partner Vito, and being bullied as a child. Peep the clips below.
