Lil Nas X‘s reign atop of the Billboard Hot 100 charts has come to an end, but only after an unprecedented run in the top spot and after the dethroning of multiple previous title holders that came before him.

Thew news comes just as the rap-singer just snagged the award for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2019 VMA’s this past Sunday.

Three weeks ago, on the Billboard Hot 100 dated August 3, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, had officially become the longest-leading No. 1 single in Hot 100 history, with 17 weeks on top after initially taking the top spot on the chart dated April 13.

Now two weeks later, the Hip Hip/Country anthem has bowed out after 19 weeks at No.1 making it the longest running No.1 in Billboard history.

Lil Nas X had some great competition, from previous No.1 title holders Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” which first set the 16-week mark in 1995-96, as well as Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee‘s Justin Bieber-featuring “Despacito” (Remix), which tied the record in 2017.

The song was dethroned by newcomer Billie Eilish‘s “Bad Guy” which now holds the No.1 spot for one week.

Get into a recap of the longest leading No.1’s in history below.
