Lil Mama (who has seemingly been a supporter of the LGBTQ community) is now stirring up some trouble and is getting major backlash for some controversial statements she expressed recently about the community, specifically the trans community.
Earlier this month the rapper sparked outrage when she seemingly compared trans people to animals in an Instagram post in which she criticizes those who change their gender at a young age.
Her post read:
“So children are too young to smoke cigarettes, too young to drink alcohol, too young to get a drivers license, too young to go to a club, too young to gamble, too young to rent a car, but old enough to cut off their genitals and/or ‘change’their gender?[thinking emoji]-This is insanity #America.”
In her own caption accompanying the retweet, she added:
“DEPOPULATION AT ANY COST CAT FIGHTS SWORD FIGHTS Used be a cat now ima dog WHATEVER TO STOP NEW LIFE REPRODUCTION.”

The post was ultimately deleted later but she continued to expound on her views when she did an IG live where she addressed the trans community. She also posted another IG story revealing that despite what commenters were saying, she can’t be transphobic because she is “Bow Wow”.

It didn’t end there though.
On Thursday (March 18) she took back to her IG stories to reveal that due to all the backlash she’s received she plans to start a heterosexual rights movement to protect straight people from being bullied and ridiculed when they speak their opinion on the LGBTQ+ community.

Why is Lil Mama speaking about the lived experiences of Transgender people? She does not have the range nor the expertise to speak on a topic she has no range on. How about she speak about the violence towards Trans people and specifically Black trans women. Again, bigotry.
