Fans of singer turned chef, Kelis may be hungry for new music since her last album ‘Food’ was released back in 2014, but now the eclectic performer is giving her day ones an unexpected surprise.

Long time fans may recall that following the release of her debut album ‘Kaleidoscope’ in 1999, the singer was set to release her sophomore album ‘Wanderland‘ in 2001. The album promo kicked off with the lead single ‘Young, Fresh ‘N’ New‘ and an official video, but then sizzled away.

The project never received an official release in the United States following her departure from Virgin Records that same year, and was only released overseas.

Die hard fans were able to purchase the hard copy album then via eBay, and a very limited number of online sites or may have been lucky to grab it (at a higher than normal price) from the overseas section of their local record store.

According to Billboard, Kelis spoke on the demise of the project back in 2006:

“I left Virgin right when it was released in Europe, so when it was supposed to release in the States, it just kinda fell by the wayside,”

“I think too, a lot of people really didn’t understand the music, and you know, it just got…they just didn’t get it.”

Well fast forward 18 years later, the album finally made its way online for purchase or streaming pleasure as of Wednesday (June 5). You can now get into the 16 track album below–which like her first album–was exclusively produced by The Neptunes.
