Posted September 26, 2021

Fresh off his Verzuz battle with Fat Joe, Hip Hop legend Ja Rule visited ‘Drink Champs‘ to chat it up with his good friend, N.O.R.E., and dished on that night, his iconic career, and much more.

Ja dished on the stigma of being a mainstream/pop artist and criticism that he went through for being a rapper singing on his records in the 2000s and how he was criticized heavily for it but now it’s popular to do.

He also shouted out Lil Nas X and encouraged new artists like him to “be themselves and do you” and express themselves as they feel despite what others might think of them. He specifically referenced male artists who want to “paint your nails and wear dresses”

While he acknowledged that he knows there is a lot of judgment that artists like LNX receive, he still advises them to show up as their true selves.

He also dished on his thoughts on R. Kelly and the cancel Kels movement, his Verzuz experience, and much more. Check out the highlight marks and full interview below.
