It’s About Time! Usher To Headline 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show, Releases Hilarious Announcement Videos Recreating ‘Confessions’ Intro

Posted September 24, 2023

It’s official! Usher is finally headlining the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The news came on Sunday (Sep. 24) via a series of hilarious parody video announcements that feature Kim Kardashian, Odell Beckham Jr., and more recreating the infamous Usher ‘Confessions’ phone call scene.

The singer, 44, will take the stage for the iconic halftime show, presented by Apple Music, at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, during the big game on Feb. 11, 2024.

In a video shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, announcing his upcoming gig, Usher gets an urgent call from Kim Kardashian, who tells the musician about his headlining spot.

Usher’s performance will mark his second Super Bowl appearance. He previously performed alongside the Black Eyed Peas when the group headlined the halftime show back in 2011.

Last year, the show was headlined by Rihanna, who revealed that she was pregnant with her second baby with A$AP Rocky mid-performance.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement.

“Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen,” the “Yeah!” singer continued. “I’ll see you real soon.”

JAY-Z, whose Roc Nation company is returning to produce the halftime show for the fifth year, said in his own statement, “Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul.”

“His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic,” added the rapper, 53, who has collaborated with Usher on songs “Hot Tottie,” “Anything” and “Best Thing.”

Super Bowl LVIII will air live on CBS on Feb. 11, 2024.

Long overdue, and we love to see it! You can check out the rest of the announcement videos via Usher’s IG HERE.
