Forever First Lady Michelle Obama Snags First GRAMMY For ‘BECOMING’ Audiobook+JoJo Wins Her First GRAMMY w/PJ Morton

While fans of several performers were highly upset with the GRAMMY’s last night for snubbing their faves, a few others snagged the coveted trophy and their fans couldn’t be more excited.

R&B singer JoJo who has faced her share of struggles and drama in the industry thanks to shady antics from her labels, and industry politics–finally snagged her first-ever GRAMMY thanks to her collaboration with PJ Morton.

The duo snagged the award for ‘Best R&B Song‘ during the big show for their 2019 collaboration ‘Say So.’

The win served as her first ever, and first-ever nomination of her career.

She took to Twitter to celebrate her long-overdue win.

She wasn’t the only one to win big last night. Forever First Lady, Michelle Obama also snagged her first-ever GRAMMY last night.

The New York Times best-selling author took home the award for ‘Best Spoken Word Album‘ for the audio recording of her memoir, ‘Becoming.’

Mrs. Obama previously received a nod for 2013’s ‘American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America,’ but it did not take home the win.

Since hitting bookshelves in 2018, Becoming has sold more than 12 million units worldwide and has been published in 46 languages. The audiobook has also been on the New York Times Audio Nonfiction Best Seller List for 14 straight months since its publication, including 7 months in the #1 slot according to The Grio.
