Jussie Smollett is all that everyone is talking about on Tuesday since it was announced that the prosecution decided to drop all 16 criminal charges against him related to his hate crime attack.

As fans, haters, and critics weigh in on the matter, the execs over at FOX have also chimed in on the matter as well this afternoon. It was previously announced that Jussie’s character would be written out of the last two episodes of the current season; but as of now he can still be seen on the show.

Ratings for the show have suffered as the second episode since it’s return after the controversy broke, was the lowest rated in the series’ history.

The March 20 episode scored a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, and was watched by just under 4 million total viewers. The mid-season premiere also struggled, with a 1.3 rating and 4.4 million viewers. The ratings slip prompted creator, Lee Daniels to post the following just days ago.

Well now despite that, the network has released a fresh statement today.

It’s not clear what this means for the shows future ratings, or Jussie’s role, but hopefully ratings will improve with the clearing of his name.
