Lil Nas X made history on Sunday night at the 2021 MTV VMAs after taking to the stage to perform his hit new single ‘Industry Baby’ with Jack Harlow.
Following the show-stopping set, he capped off the night by taking home the most coveted award of the night, ‘Video of the Year’ for his other hit single, ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’.
LNX took the honor over his competitors including Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion, DJ Khaled & Drake, Doja Cat & SZA, The Weeknd, and Ed Sheeran who were all fighting for the Moonman.
He also made history while doing so, becoming the first openly gay performer to ever win the award, and only the third black man to do so following Kendrick Lamar who took home the Video of the Year for 2017 and The Weeknd in 2020.
In true LNX fashion, he took to the stage and trolled his critics as he accepted his honor. Get into it below.
